Remember this cake topper I blogged about not long ago? The groom is a dance instructor so when his now, wife ordered their cake topper, she asked for me to make the caricature of the groom take on John Travolta’s famous ‘Saturday Night Fever’ stance … just like this …

Take a look at the way the real groom posed for for their photo!! So funny! … and look at Donatella, the bride, looking like her look alike on the cake.

So cute! 10 out of 10 for the idea!

A Touch of Nostalgia

There’s something nostalgic about my next piece …. romantic even …

My client, Letizia ordered her cake topper just the way I made it. She had clear ideas … so it was easy to ‘get right into it’!

I added a touch of my own …. the light at the top of the lamp-post … lights up at night … because I used fluorescent clay!

A Workoholic and a Shopoholic …

I was recently re-contacted by a returning customer who asked me to prepare a cake topper for her friends this time.

This is a photo of the lovely bride …

… and this is the groom …

… and both of them together …

… and this is how I made their cake topper …. But hey, wait a minute! What’s that thing the groom’s holding?… And I seem to notice something red hanging off the bride’s shoulder …

???

That’s what it is!!

It’s a well known European fashion store shopping bag! She LOVES shopping there! … She gets all her clothes there!

And the groom’s holding a tool of the trade he’s in, the building trade,… he’s holding a worn-out trowel … and see the bottom side of it? It still has cement on it!!

A very happy couple

Today’s happy couple is … Simona and Stefano.

Here they are again … enjoying each other’s company …

Simona wanted her cake topper to be a real souvenir of her wedding day so she asked me to duplicate her beautiful bridal gown and here you can see for yourselves how absolutely gorgeous it is …

Shortly after the wedding Simona took time out to send me a few photos she picked out for me to put on my blog. I’ll share them with you … (I have her permission to!) Here they are looking very elegant at ‘cutting-of-the-cake-time’ … with their cake topper … how cute … it looks like miniatures of them!

Simona and Enrico surprised me by sending me a collection of beautiful photos that were taken on their wedding day which took place in May. Let me share them with you! They’re gorgeous!

I’m so happy today … and I have to thank Cynthia Tinapple from www.polymerclaydaily.com for it ! She featured me on her site yesterday, not just any site, it’s my favourite site! You can see it here.

I think this calls for more posts written in English. Let’s start with this one. Let me introduce you to two recent clients of mine … Rosa and her fiancé …

Here they are again …

This is a couple with a passion! A deep (sea) passion for ……

Scuba diving! So the choice of theme for their cake topper came as second nature to them … what else? The sea!

Here’s how I portrayed them in their very own custom-made cake topper …

Rosa aked for me to make the base that way and asked for a turtle, starfish and shells.

Together we agreed on adding flippers and diving mask.

Right up their alley, wouldn’t you say?
